Energy+awards very best  Aplusplus and aplus Cold Appliances and most creative energy+ campaign 

The international jury of the 2004 European Energy+ Appliance Awards Competition has selected Arcelik (Blomberg CT 1300A) as winner in the category: 2 Door refrigerator freezer. Electrolux is selected as winner in the categories: Table top refrigerator (ERT 1677), 1 Door refrigerator freezer (ERC 2735), Chest freezer (ECS 2346) and Upright freezer (EUC 2200). A special mention has been given to Arcelik.

The jury for the European  Energy+ Participant Award Competition has selected MIGROS (major Swiss retail chain) and ewz (utility for the city of Zurich) as winners. They will share the award for there combined efforts in the city of Zurich. Special mentions were given to Hespul, UNC and Stawag.

 

On February 25, 2004, at the Hometech int. trade fair, Cologne, Germany the 2004 Energy+ awards have been presented. The awards for the best Energy+ appliances have be presented by Mr. Gonzalo Molina Iguarta (Head of Unit for Demand Management, DG Energy & Transport, European Commission). The award for the most creative Energy+ campaign is given away by Mr. Dr. Heinz Baues, Ministry for Transport, Energy and Regional planning of Nordrhein-Westphalen.

The 2004 European Energy+ Awards showcase the very best energy-efficient appliances and the most creative Energy+ promotion activities of Energy+ supporters.

On the supply side - the European Energy+ Appliance Awards, 5 categories:

  • Table top refrigerator: Electrolux, Electrolux - ERT 1677 - EEI = 29,68% and 131 kWh per year;
  • 1 Door refrigerator freezer: Electrolux, Electrolux - ERC 2735 - EEI = 27,98% and 157 kWh per year;
  • 2 Door refrigerator freezer: Arcelik, Blomberg - CT 1300A - EEI = 19,81% and 137 kWh per year;
  • Chest freezer: Electrolux, Electrolux - ECS 2346 - EEI = 27,44% and 153 kWh per year;
  • Upright freezer: Electrolux, Electrolux - EUC 2200 - EEI = 29,8% and 172 kWh.

The jury has given a special mention to Arcelik for presenting the "Most Efficient Energy+ Model". The appliance awards were handed over to Mr. Wolfgang Konig, CEO-Electrolux Europe and Mr. Heinz Fischer managing Director of Blomberg.

On the demand side the European Energy+ Participant Award for the Most Creative promotion Campaign. This award is shared by: Migros, a major Swiss retail chain and ewz , utility for the city of Zurich, Switzerland.

Ewz for " the most comprehensive promotion campaign" and Migros for "the most effective retailer's campign". An example to be followed by others. The jury additionally distinguished the following participants with Special Mentions:

  • Hespul, French NGO promoting renewable energy sources and energy savings, for its "Cost-effective  one-to-one initiatives";
  • Stawag, the utility for the German city of Aachen, for its "Unique citizen rebate policy";
  • Unione Nazionale Consumatori, italian consumer organisation, for its "Outstanding large scale informative campaign". 

Spring 2004 Energy+ lists, final update 

In February 2004, all mayor manufacturers have proposed their newest super-efficient models complying with the new A+ and A++ class definitions of the European Energy Label. In total 21 participating manufacturers listed almost 900 appliances. On February 25, 2004 the final on-line Spring 2004 Energy+ lists have been presented at the Hometech international trade fair, Cologne, Germany.

49 brands ranging in 8 categories of domestic cold appliances meet the stringent efficiency criteria of both the Energy+ project and of the new A++ and A+ classes of the European Energy Label. THESE APPLIANCES PRESENT EXCEPTIONAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY LEVELS: they save from 25% up to more than  45% of the energy consumed by equivalent basic Class A models. They have joined!

Major manufacturers joined from the very first year, setting the trend for the industry. Their Energy+ offer covers a growing share of the domestic cold appliance market.

Amica and V-Zug have joined Energy+ with respectively Amica: 2 models and  V-Zug: 4 models. The European supply force gathers today 21 manufacturing groups:

AB Electrolux, Amica, Antonio Merloni, Arcelik, Bosch-Siemens, Candy, Foron, Gorenje, Haier, IAR Siltal, Liebherr, Merloni, Miele, Migros, Neckermann, Otto, Quelle, Snaige, Vestfrost, V-Zug and Whirlpool.
